HANNAH + TAYLOR /// GRAND RAPIDS BACKYARD WEDDING

these two are always laughing together…you can really tell they are each others’ best friends. you can always tell how amazing a couple is by how good the speeches are. i found myself both laughing and tearing up while hearing their many friends gush over how much they love them. it was a very hot michigan day and many cold beers were drank. the heat didn’t hold anyone back from having the best time, though. hannah and taylor threw quite the party. the whole day was pretty magical, but that dance party at the end…amazing. it was the best day and i’m so happy for these two.

MEAGAN + RYAN /// CAMP AGAWAM WEDDING /// LAKE ORION, MI

meagan and ryan are two people who instantly make you feel like you’re best friends with them. they are warm, funny, and true to themselves. their day was perfectly them. the ceremony was at an old camp and overlooked the lake. their vows made everyone cry, including the two of them. one of the things they told me they were most excited about for their wedding day was drinking beer with their friends, which made a brewery the perfect place for their reception. the donut wall was also a highlight…i may have grabbed the most delicious raspberry donut ever on my way out.

JOSH + BILL /// NEW YORK CITY WEDDING /// YALE CLUB

josh + bill
new york city, ny

a private ceremony on the roof overlooking the city is a really amazing way to start a wedding day. these two got to share a few minutes alone to say their vows to each other before the day began. their family and friends later showed up and shared plenty of champagne. we took a quick little walk over to grand central station and coincidentally enough took a photo under the “new haven line departures” sign, which is where they met. the day ended with wine and shots all around, and the best “oops i did it again” dancing i’d ever seen, and screaming the michigan fight song. overall, really good day :-)

VINH + ANA /// PASADENA, CA /// ENGAGEMENT SESSION

vinh + ana
roaming the farmers market together.
fresh flowers and handmade soap.
cuddling in the park and kissing under bridges.

these two lived in pasadena together for a while and recently moved up to the bay area for work. they still feel like pasadena is home and wanted to do their engagement photos there and i was all for it. i love shooting in places that people feel is home to them.

KATE + DEDE /// HEADLANDS CENTER FOR THE ARTS /// SAN FRANCISCO, CA WEDDING

kate + dede's day was the frickin best. starting the day off with grilled cheese and polaroids to their first look in a stairwell and toasting with champagne. their day was so chill and so perfectly them. they were surrounded by their badass crew dressed in all black. their ceremony had everyone in the room tearing up, even me. the cocktail hour was full of deep belly laughs in the photo booth bus and eating delicious squash blossoms. my favorite part of a wedding day is typically the toasts and their toasts were some of the funniest i've ever heard. i've never seen someone laugh as hard as kate hearing her brother give that toast. the night ended with the sweetest father/daughter dance in which they switched halfway through to dance with the others' dad. kate and dede are some of the sweetest and funniest people you'll ever meet. i'm so glad to know them and to be there for this day.

a review from kate:

“amanda is absolutely incredible to work with. her photos are beautiful, unique and everything we could have ever wanted. i wanted to be captured naturally and she did just that. she’s artistic, creative and just so talented. we had a blast taking engagement photos with her. even the guests at our wedding commented on how she didn’t miss a single moment. i can’t stop looking at the photos. hire her now!!”

VANESSA + RACHAEL /// BLUE DRESS BARN /// BENTON HARBOR, MI

vanessa + rachael.
cute babies and barn cats.
a tear-filled song from some of their best friends.
the most fun dance party i've ever seen.
a joint bouquet toss.
s'mores and cigars by the bonfire.
"who run the world....girls" was playing as i walked back to my car and i think that sums up this day pretty well.
